MOSCOW, Apr 18 (PRIME) – Legislation should prohibit blocking Internet resources used by more than 1 million people, Igor Lebedev, vice speaker of Russia’s State Duma, the parliament’s lower house, said on Wednesday.
“We should protect Russians from senseless bans,” Lebedev said on Twitter.
Actions of the communications service did not produce a desired result. “(It) targeted Telegram, but hit the Russian business,” the official said.
The Tagansky District Court of Moscow satisfied the service’s lawsuit on April 13 and blocked Telegram in the country.
